The Ford Motor Company announced Wednesday that it was recalling nearly 600,000 vehicles because of problems that could lead to difficulty steering. The automaker is recalling Ford Fusion and Lincoln MKZ sedans from 2013 to 2015, along with the Ford Edge from 2015 due to an issue that could cause the steering mode to switch to manual mode. That would make it more difficult to steer, especially at lower speeds. Ford says it would not eliminate your ability to steer, but it could increase the risk of a crash. Ford says it is not aware of any accidents or crashes due to the problem. Owners of recalled vehicles can take their car to any Ford dealer and have to problem fixed at no cost. Ford also recalled over 50,000 Ford Focus, Edge, Escape and Transit vehicles due to a nickel plating issue that could cause the fuel pump to seize.
