Major League Baseball's current rosters have only five players born in Iowa. We introduce you to them all.

There are 30 teams each made up of a 25-man roster. That's 750 players currently in the big leagues. Yes, only five of them are Iowa natives. When you consider the numbers, only 0.00666 percent of current major league players hail from the Hawkeye state. These five young men are in incredibly select company:

    Scott Schebler

    Scott is the only native Cedar Rapidian currently playing in the big leagues. He was born in Cedar Rapids in 1990 and went on to star at Cedar Rapids Prairie.

    Schebler is in his second major league season after seeing some action with the Los Angeles Dodgers last year before an off-season trade to the Cincinnati Reds.

    This season, MLB shows Schebler is hitting .167 with a home run and five runs-batted-in. He can play all three outfield positions.

    His current contract runs through this season. His 2016 salary is $508,000.

    Colin Rea

    Colin is a native of Cascade. He was born in 1990 and played for his hometown Cascade Cougars.

    Rea is in his second major league season, both with the San Diego Padres. He won his major league debut last August, an 11-6 win over the Cincinnati Reds. He  has 11 major league starts to his credit, with three wins and three losses, according to Baseball Reference.

    Colin is signed through this season and his 2016 salary is $510,000.

    Jeremy Hellickson

    Jeremy is a native of Des Moines. He was born in 1987 and played baseball at Des Moines Hoover.

    Hellickson is in his seventh major league season. He pitched for Tampa Bay for five years, Arizona last year, and this season is with the Philadelphia Phillies. He has a career record of 50-49. His highest win total came in 2011 when he won 13 for Tampa Bay. He was named the American League Rookie of the Year. He won a Gold Glove, as the American League's top fielding pitcher, in 2012.

    He's currently under a one-year contract that will pay him $7 million.

    Tony Watson

    Tony is a native of Sioux City and  played high school baseball at Dallas Center-Grimes. He was born in 1985, making him the oldest of Iowa's current contingent of big leaguers, at age 30.

    Watson is in his sixth major league season, all of them with the Pittsburgh Pirates.

    Tony has a career record of 24-8 to go along with five saves. According to Baseball Reference, he had a 10-2 record and two saves in 2014, his best season to date. His earned-run-average (ERA) the last two seasons were 1.63 and 1.91, respectively, making him one of baseball's best relievers. He was named to the National League All-Star team in 2014.

    He's in the final year of his contract. His salary this year is $3.45 million.

    Michael Wacha

    Michael was born in Iowa City but is the only current Iowa native who did not play high school baseball in his home state. His family moved to Texas, and Wacha played his high school years at Pleasant Grove High in Texarkana. He was born in 1991.

    Wacha is in his fourth major league season, all with the St. Louis Cardinals.

    Michael was a first-round pick of the Cardinals in 2012 and made his major league debut in 2013 when he went 4-1. He has a career record of 30-14 and was named the Most Valuable Player of the 2013 National League Championship Series. He pitched 13 2/3 scoreless innings and won two games as the Cardinals eliminated the Los Angeles Dodgers. He was also named a National League All-Star last season.

    His current contract ends after this season. Baseball Reference reports his 2016 salary at $539,000.
