The Iowa State Athletics Department has released architectural sketches for the south end zone project at Jack Trice Stadium, and they are impressive.  The designs and plans for phase one of construction go to the state Board of Regents for final approval June 5th.

The south end zone project will house a two-story premium club space, including an additional HD-quality video board/sound system and will connect the east and west concourses.  Stadium capacity will be more than 61,000 upon completion in August of next year.  Plans call for breaking ground this summer.

In addition to the stadium renovation, Iowa State officials are also reviewing concepts for a second phase, which would include parking improvements and green space areas adjacent to the facility.  The entire project is part of a $60-million upgrade to the primary campus entrance and football facility.
