Do you ever day dream about winning the lottery? You imagine what you'd pay for first, how to invest or maybe simiply how fast could you spend it! It's the same for many high profile professional athletes. Many come from low income situations and then are suddenly handed millions of dollars. The former NBA champion and current TNT analyist, signed a huge rookie contract with the Orlando Magic. The first thing he did? He took care of his family. He got them out of debt, got them into a new house and got them each a new car. The price tag? $1 million dollars in just 45 minutes. Wow. Shaq would go on to a long NBA career and make hundreds of millions of dollars. But the same can't be said for other athletes.  A new survey found that 60% of NBA players go broke within 5 years of retiring from basketball. A survey found that 78% of NFL players are under financial strain after 2 years of quiting football. Shaq has some advice for people and athletes that come into millions of dollars. Learn what annuities are, and put most of it in the bank. Shaq put 75% of his salary in the bank, and had "fun" with the other 25%. Sounds like a problem I'd like to have!
