Many of you have worked in a fast food restaurant before. Chances are you were a teenager or young adult. It may have even been your very first job. But today, more people of all ages are working at these restaurants and the reason isn't a good one.

The average age of a fast food restaurant worker is 29 and a half years old. Hard to believe isn't it. Back in the year 2000, the average age was 22. What has happened? A horrible job market for one. Many people simply can't find anything else so they end up going back to fast food. Also, retirees are looking for some extra income so they too are getting hired at fast food restaurants.

McDonalds just had a hiring blitz in which they were looking to add 50,000 jobs nationwide. Many stores had lines of people waiting to apply. It's a sign that the U.S. job market still has a ways to go.
