Fall is Full of Fun for Families [VIDEO]

There is a reason fall is my favorite time of year. OK, there are several. The cooler weather, the changing colors and a variety of fun activities for the whole family! Here are just a few that my family are looking forward to this year.

Going to an apple orchard. There are several popular ones in eastern Iowa to choose from. Pick a crisp day and head out to pick some. Have a little hot cider and maybe enjoy a hayrack ride or horseback ride!

Attending a fall festival. My family heads to Pumpkinfest in Anamosa every year, but there are many other fall festivals to choose from. Octoberfest in the Amanas is another. They feature great food and beverages, fun activities for the kids and sometimes, like Pumpkinfest, a parade!

Raking Leaves. OK, the real fun isn't raking them. The real fun is jumping in the pile of them when you're done. I remember doing this when I was a kid, and now my kids love doing this as well. Sure, it makes clean up last longer. But how can you refuse? It's just too much fun!

Don't forget about Kidsfest on October 24the at the Helen G. Nassif YMCA in Downtown Cedar Rapids! They'll be all kinds of fun activities for kids and you can even bring them in their Halloween costumes! Get out and have fun this fall!
