Forbes Magazine recently published an article about the top ways that young people are wasting money. Really? I'm 41 and I know I still waste money. Financial managment has never been my strong suit. I'd like to think that I've gotten a little better at it, but sometimes, temptations take over. So, young or old, here are some obvious ways we are ALL wasting money!

  • Renting a place you can't afford. The old rule is you shouldn't spend more than 30% of your income on rent. But some people really want a swanky place bad so they overspend.
  • Mindless spending on little things. This one adds up quick! Starbucks every morning. Going to Target for one thing and spending $100.
  • Being lazy. Got me again. You go home after work and you're tired. You don't want to cook, so you order in or go out to eat and drop way more than you should.
  • Paying for things you want, but don't need. The needs vs. wants arguement. Yes, I know you love 'Game of Thrones'. But can you afford the extra $15 a month on your cable?
