St. John XXIII Holy Smoke-off and BBQ competition and Tailgate event is Saturday beginning at 10:30 am on 80th St. SW Cedar Rapids between 16th Ave and Hwy 151. Experience smoked dishes, created by local BBQ masters. Adult meals are $10 in advance or $12 at the door (Kids Meals-$5) for baby back ribs, chicken, BBQ beans, mac and cheese, cornbread and a nonalcoholic drink. Sample wines and craft beer that can be purchased. Big screen tv’s will be showing the Iowa Hawkeye football game. Bring your chairs, coolers, footballs, bags etc. and enjoy fabulous BBQ.
