Eric Paslay was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes as a boy, but he's refused to let it affect his life. He also hasn't forgotten those afflicted with the disease, even as his career continues to grow by leaps and bounds.

Eric, the headliner at the KHAK-Thomas Dostal Developers Freedom Festival Concert on the 4th of July in downtown Cedar Rapids was 10 when he was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. For several years following the diagnosis, he wanted to be a pediatric endocrinologist so he could help diagnosis diseases of the glands in kids. Eventually he'd be inspired and encouraged to become a country music songwriter and finally a singer himself. Still, Eric hasn't forgotten youngsters who are fighting the same battle he began as a kid, often taking time for kids, as he does in the video below:

We're thrilled to have Eric bringing his high-energy stage show to Cedar Rapids on the 4th of July along with Chuck Wicks, the fantastic new group A Thousand Horses, midwest-native Logan Mize, and the electric stage presence of Natalie Stovall and the Drive. Tickets went on sale just a few days ago, so be sure to get yours today!
