Keith Urban fans were ecstatic last week when he released his first single off of his new album Graffiti U. It's titled 'Coming Home' and features Julia Michaels. If you're not familiar with Michaels, she's an American singer and songwriter from our own state! According to All Music, Michaels was born in Davenport, Iowa in 1993 although she grew up in Santa Clarita, California.

She's only 23-years-old and she's already accomplished so much. She may have just released her first single 'Issues' last year, but she started performing at 12-years-old and has since "composed songs for artists such as Demi Lovato, Fifth Harmony, Selena Gomez, Ed Sheeran, Shakira, Linkin Park, Justin Bieber, and many others" as the site reports.

Michaels isn't the first Iowan to make moves in the music world lately. You may remember Shueyville-native Hailey Whitters who has written songs for Martina McBride and songs like 'Happy People' for Little Big Town! Check out a video of her performing the hit.

Michaels and Whitters are making us all here in Iowa proud. We can't wait to see what they do next!
