Everyone knows Dustin Lynch is talented, but did you know that he can bring tears with a single song? Lynch stopped by the Bobby Bones Show this week and performed a new song called “Love Me or Leave Me Alone,” and it’s a doozy.

Lynch performs the stripped-down, soulful lament with just an acoustic guitar and a similarly simplistic look, ditching the cowboy hat for a backwards ball cap and donning a plain T-shirt and a 5 o’clock shadow.

Accompanied by bass, keys and percussion, the singer launches into a sincere performance of an emotional song in the video above, essentially asking a significant other to make up her mind so he can either move forward with her or without her.

Dustin Lynch Is Pulling a Taylor Swift on New Album

The somber tone that colors the song implies he knows what her choice will be, which makes it all the more sad. Lynch’s vocals shine in the performance, hitting every note effortlessly with just the right amount of rasp. It keeps intact his classic-country-inspired roots while his voice gives it a modern sound.

Lynch is gearing up to release a new album called Current Mood, in which he claims he will reveal some insight into his relationships with “certain people.”

“No one is ever going to find out who it is,” he admits to Taste of Country. “I’m sure there are going to be speculations.”

He slowly released the track listing by wearing T-shirts on tour, each displaying one track name — and fans didn’t notice until he put it all together for them. He’s already earned a No. 1 hit with “Seein’ Red,” the album’s first single, and if this performance is any indication, “Love Me or Leave Me Alone” will perform similarly.

Current Mood — Lynch’s third studio album — is slated for release on Sept. 8.
