My new pair of glasses marks a first for me.  My first pair of multi-focus lenses.  Yes, some of you call them bifocals.  However, I refuse to.  My eye doctor didn't call them that, and neither did the nice lady who helped me pick out my frames.  Bifocals are for "old people"....right?

I have been farsighted my entire life.  I got my first pair of glasses when I was just 2 years old.  Glasses have been with me my whole life.  In the past 6 months or so, I began to notice that reading fine print was getting harder and harder.  Then it was words that were just small, and not fine print.  When I went in for my check up, my eye doctor confirmed what I had suspected.  I needed some help.  He explained that because I was farsighted, my eyes have worked harder than most working to read small print up close.  That and the fact that I'm 40, means that I was now a candidate for multi-focus lenses.  He recommended I make the switch now, so it wouldn't take so long to get used to them.  I wondered if I would really notice a difference.  Boy did I ever!

It was like I got HDTV for my eyes!  Everything was crisp and sharp!  And I could read small words up close again!  The best part is that you'd never know by looking at my lenses that they are multi-focus.  They are blended in so you can't even tell.  They are taking a little getting used to, but I just can't tell you how good it feels to be able to see correctly again!
