After just one year, Dolly Parton's Imagination Library is having quite the effect here in Cedar Rapids. This according to the Cedar Rapids Public Library Foundation.

Of the more than 9,000 kids age zero to 5 in Cedar Rapids, 50% are enrolled in Dolly's program and receive one free book per month. Research shows that kids who grow up with books in their home achieve three more years of education than those who do not. Library officials say Parton's program helps remove barriers of getting books into the homes of more children.

The library says that since the launch of the program in early 2018, more than 45,000 books have been delivered to kids in Cedar Rapids. More than 1 million books are sent to kids around the world through Imagination Library every month!

If you would like your child to participate in the Dolly Parton Imagination Library program, they need to be under the age of five. You can sign them up by clicking HERE.
