A three-minute-plus preview for "Dolly Parton's Coat of Many Colors" has been released. It airs next month on NBC and if the trailer is any indication, it will be VERY good.

The movie is based on something that happened during Dolly's childhood in the Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee in the middle-50's. Dolly was nine at the time.

Dolly is one of the executive producers of the movie and helped handpick the cast. Her parents are played by singer Jennifer Nettles and Rick Schroeder. The preview shows Nettles, formerly of Sugarland, definitely has some acting chops. Gerald McRaney is also in the film, playing the Reverend Jake Owens. I know, I love the name too. Dolly's daughter is played by 8-year-old Alyvia Alyn Lind. Dolly herself let her know she'd be playing her in the movie. See the video below for her adorable reaction. "Dolly Parton's Coat of Many Colors" will air Thursday, December 10 at 8 pm Iowa time on NBC. I, for one, will be watching.
