There's no doubt that 3am is ridiculously early. Scott Steele is crazy (or stupid – depending on how you look at it) enough to have been getting up at that hour every weekday for the past 13 years. Since coming over to co-host the morning show on KHAK in 2007, Steele has learned a lot about what the country music lifestyle is all about. His favorite part of working for KHAK is without a doubt the listeners. When Steele isn't working on the show, chances are you'll find him in the company of his wife Misty and their bulldog Chilli
Hello all! Thanks for stopping by my page. I was born and raised in Cedar Rapids. I graduated from the University of Iowa so I have to bleed black and gold. When I’m not at the station or cheering on the Hawks I’m usually hanging out with my animals, a purebred Collie named Chico and a cat named Coop. Aside from the Hawks I’m partial to Chicago teams when it comes to professional sports. I love the Bulls, Bears, and White Sox. I also have a soft spot for the Los Angeles Dodgers (I’ve even been to a game at Dodger Stadium)!
Time flies when you’re having fun. I’ve been in radio now for over 25 years and over 20 of those years have been here at KHAK. My wife Katie and I have two grown children (how did that happen so fast???), one dog, and two cats. I grew up in a racing family and drive a dirt late model in the summertime, all around Iowa. A blue #9. I also DJ wedding dances all around Iowa. I enjoy watching the Iowa Hawkeyes, racing, and the Big Bang Theory

Sam Alex has always been a big fan of country music -- he's worked for country stations across the nation and never misses his favorite acts when they come to town. He's been on red carpets for many different awards shows and interviewed some of your favorite celebrities, like Will Ferrell and Taylor Swift. Originally from the Chicago area, Sam now lives in Nashville, where he hosts the Taste of Country Nights radio show. If you ever see him on lower Broadway, get him a pina colada and some BB
Bob James has been with KHAK since 1990. He started his career in the "biz" in the Quad Cities, while attending the American Institute of Commerce. His first full-time position was in nearby Independence. Bob has spent all but one year of his time in radio in the country format. He and his wife Julie have been married since 1993 and have a dog (Cooper) and 2 cats (Caylie and Cassie). They also have 185-combined gallons of aquariums in their Cedar Rapids home, including a 150-gallon tank
Ryan Brainard, aka The Brain, was born and raised in Anamosa. He grew up on a farm, where his family raised cattle, and grew corn and soybeans. Ryan attended Kirkwood Community College on a music scholarship, but it was an internship at KHAK in 1995 that changed everything. He was eventually hired part time on weekends, moved to nights and then to the morning show in 1999. He's been there ever since. Ryan also met his wife Holly at Kirkwood
