Earlier this year, I gave up drinking pop. I don't do coffee, so a diet soda in the moring was my caffeine intake device for the day. My streak lasted for nearly a month, but I admit I'm back on the diet pop train. I don't drink as much, and more information is out proving why we all should limit or stop drinking it altogether.

Artificial sweeteners in diet soda have been proven to cause migraines, anxiety and insomnia.  When you drink diet soda, everything else will taste worse. How? Artificial sweeteners over power your taste buds because they are so much sweeter than anything else. Your risk of diabetes also rises. A new study in Japan showed that middle-aged men that drink at least one diet soda per day were more likely to develop type 2 diabetes.

And here is the real kicker. Diet soda can actually make you gain weight. A study found that you're 65% more likely to gain weight if you drink diet soda. People who stop drinking it often stop craving junk food. These are all great reasons to quit drinking diet soda. Maybe I'll try it again someday. But until then, hello Diet Dew!
