The eagles nest has sprung to life in Decorah in a big way in the last few days. It all started Easter morning. According to the Raptor Resource Project, it was about 7:25 Sunday morning that eaglet number one entered the world. The little cutie is known as D29.

Then, at evening feeding time Monday, D30 appeared for the first time. At 8:35 Monday night, the Raptor Resource Project revealed the news, that was clearly quite a surprise. This is part of the post:

You could have knocked us over with a feather when a fully dry D30 briefly popped its head up during evening feeding time! Mom and Dad kept the lid sealed pretty tightly today, so we are not sure when D30 hatched.

The third eaglet's (D31) arrival came at 11:44 p.m. Wednesday, according to a post on the Raptor Resource Project Facebook page. Here's the video:

According to the Raptor Resource Project, these tiny eaglets are likely to be a little bigger than their parents within 80 days, or by the time summer arrives in June.
