This is how Cedar Rapids and Eastern Iowa come together and get things done.

CBS2 News reports that the 2016 Flood of Cedar Rapids Facebook Page is a place for information on how to help.

For example, everyday people show up to the Bertram Township Hall at 211 Angle Street, with food, a full tank of gas or hands to help.

Sue Wolrab, Co-organizer of the Bertram Brown Bag Committee, says she can’t even count the number of people who have donated food, supplies and time.

“Many, many, many volunteers,” she says. “Churches, organizations, teachers. Just every day, doctors, nurses, everyday people that came in and just wanted to do their part.”

The American Red Cross has been busy as you may expect and so has the United Way of Eastern Iowa County. Both are great resources for those who need help and for those who can offer to help out and pitch in.
