I wasn't expecting to try a new restaurant last night, but here we are!

Yesterday we had a going away party for one of my coworkers, so we, of course, let her choose the restaurant we would be headed to. Since we work in downtown Cedar Rapids, it made the most sense to stick to a place nearby. She chose a place that I had heard of, but never visited before: Quarter Barrel.

First of all, this place is stinkin' awesome! There are old pinball and arcade machines all over the place, AND there's a ton of beer. What's not to love?

Secondly, the food was sooooo good! I started off with their hand-cut curly fries, dipped in their spicy ranch sauce:

Then I moved on to the garlic cheese bread. HONEST TO GOD, it might have been the best cheese bread I've ever had. I can't even explain to you why it was so good, it just was:

Finally, we ended things with a couple of pizzas. I tried the Chicken Alfredo Pizza:

Quarter Barrel wasn't on my original list, but I never expected that they would have such good food! I already had another restaurant planned for this month, but I might just have to do a bonus one for February.

If you have any restaurant suggestions for me, feel free to leave them in the comments! I'll be needing a new destination for March :)
