I know, I know, I'm a week late on my New Year's Resolution Movie List. You can thank Netflix and the release of House of Cards season 3 for that one. But, I DID watch a movie last night to make up for last weekend's mishap. So, I give to you - my review of Sleepless in Seattle (1993)!

I can keep my girl card! I finally watched a classic, cheesy romance movie! First of all, I LOVE me some Tom Hanks. I've seen Forrest Gump about 10,000 times. When the movie started, I honestly thought it was going to be terrible. It started off so sad and mushy, I didn't think I was going to make it through the whole thing. But, that changed during the scene when he was on the phone with the radio show. Somehow I was sucked in to the sappiness.

As far as the plot goes, I was super creeped out! This movie is focused so much on romance that I think they overlooked the STALKING aspect. If ANY of this happened in real life, Tom Hanks' character would've requested a restraining order. She gets a background check on him, stalks his life, and flies out to where he lives and watches him from afar. HOW IS THAT NOT WEIRD? They took a movie about STALKING and turned it into a romance - successfully, I might add. I found myself rooting for Sam and Annie, despite the awkwardness. Can we also talk about how Annie was ENGAGED? She was sneaking around behind her fiance's back, stalking another man! THAT IS TOTALLY NOT OK. But, her fiance was ok with it somehow, so it all worked out.

Overall, I didn't hate the movie. I'm glad I watched it, despite the over-the-top cheesiness.

I'll be watching another movie this weekend, since this was just a catch-up movie! Leave any suggestions below!
