Only two more weeks to get through before I can officially say that I completed my New Year's Resolution! This weekend I watched a classic, a very loooooong classic.

As you probably already know, I've been trying to watch well-known movies from ALL genres this year. I wasn't very excited to watch this one, because I'm not really into mafia movies, but I felt it was necessary because it's "The Godfather."

The first thing I'll say is that it was super long. So long that I had to stop the movie halfway through and take a nap so I could finish it. Even though it was really lengthy, I still enjoed watching it. It was a bit confusing at times, because I couldn't keep track of the character names and who was bad and who was good. Luckily, I had the internet available to me, so I had a plot synopsis open that I would read after every scene to make sure I understood what was happening. I fully commited to this movie!

I was shocked to see so many big names in this flick. Marlon Brando, Al Pacino, Robert Duvall, Diane Keaton... it was star-studded. I will tell you that I had a super big crush on Don Vito Corleone. It wasn't his looks or any one specific thing, I just really loved his calm-demeanor and his devotion to his family and his level-headedness. I know that's awful beause he's a mobster, but I don't care. I loved him. I cried when he died. I liked him way more than I liked Michael. I don't think I'll ever watch the second Godfather, because Don Vito won't be in it.

The one part of the movie that was super weird to me was the whole marriage in Italy thing. Micheal looks at a girl and then asks her dad if he can marry her without even even knowing her name! And she's just like, yeah ok that's cool, let's get hitched. Weird how things worked back then.

I need two more movies to watch this year, and they need to be good ones! Leave me your suggestions in the comments.
