I went about 40 years into the past with last week's movie choice - a classic starring a young Jack Nicholson and Danny DeVito!

First of all, I did not realize just how old this movie was. As soon as it started I thought, "wow, this film looks kind of outdated." I don't know what I was thinking, but for some reason I thought this movie was from the 90s. Shows how much I know...

In my opinion, this movie definitely deserves all of the awards that it won. It's the second of only 3 films to ever win every major Academy Award, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Actor, and Best Actress. That's pretty dang impressive! I loved Jack Nicholson in this. He's very convincing as an obnoxious jerk. More shocking to me than the ending of this movie is the fact that Danny DeVito is in it. I had absolutely NO IDEA. None. It wasn't until I was reading trivia about the movie that I realized that he was in it. I've never seen him as a young man!  That blew me away!

As far as the story goes, I thought it was brilliant how everything tied together at the end. When Chief pulled that sink out of the bathroom and threw it into the window and just calmly walked away? PERFECT. I was actually cheering like the other patients in the hospital. Chief ended up being my favorite character in the flick, which makes sense because I found out that this movie is actually based off a book that is told from Chief's point of view. Overall, one of my favorite movies I watched this year.

Only 4 weeks left! I'm still looking for a few movies to watch (this week might be The Godfather!), so leave your suggestions below.
