Courtlin’s Resolution Movie List — Week 39

A lot of people were pretty shocked and confused when I revealed my movie choice for last week, because it's one of those movies that everyone has seen 100 times. Well, not me!

Back to the Future (1985)

Now before you ask me if I've lived under a rock my entire life, I'll tell you that before this weekend I had seen SOME of "Back to the Future," just not the entire thing all the way through. I was familiar with the characters and the general plot of the movie, but I wasn't familiar with how WONDERFUL the movie is! I seriously can't put into words how much I loved it. It was just perfect!

Let's start with Micheal J. Fox. I'm not going to lie, I'm a little bit in love with Marty McFly. His character was just so... cool. The guitar playing and the skateboarding and the vest, I loved it ALL.

I know this is a great movie, because watching it gave me extreme anxiety. I was sitting on the edge of my seat, yelling at the screen for the entire last quarter of the movie. I WAS SO STRESSED. Everything went totally wrong at the very last second. I knew there had to be a happy ending, but the suspense was killing me! When the movie ended I was so relieved.

My favorite scene of the movie is when Marty met his parents for the first time. I was trying to imagine how I would feel meeting my parents when they were younger and it would be absolutely terrifying. I think he did a really great job of portraying that feeling. And the fact that his mom had a crush on him is hilarious and love how that played itself out. When Marty's dad finally stood up to Biff I was cheering OUT LOUD. My neighbors probably thought I was insane, but it was totally worth it.

Overall, I am totally obsessed with Back to the Future and I can't believe it took me this long to see it. Yes, I will be watching the sequels, but probably not for awhile since I still have so many other movies to watch before the end of the year! If you have any suggestions for me, leave them below!
