Courtlin’s Resolution Movie List — Week 38

We are quickly approaching Halloween, so I decided to get a little festive with my movie choice this past weekend!

Ghostbusters (1984)

Now, before you ask me, "HOW HAVE YOU NEVER SEEN GHOSTBUSTERS?!" Remember that in 1984 I wasn't alive yet, so I grew up watching 90s Halloween movies, like The Addams Family and Hocus Pocus. Do I wish I would've seen this movie earlier? Yes. But hey, what can you do?

I get it. I get the cult following for this movie. It's entertaining and it's funny and it's quirky. And I love Bill Murray in this. He's so good at playing a total jerk! One of the reasons I wish I would've seen this movie earlier is because I probably wouldn't have noticed how terrible the special effects are. After you see movies like Transformers and Avatar, special effects from the early 80s are hard to ignore. It's ok though, because it made the movie what it is.

The best part of the entire movie was the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man. Hands down. What I didn't realize is that this character was created for the Ghostbusters movie. I always thought it was an ACTUAL character from a real marshmallow company! That kind of shows just how iconic this movie is. Also, the best character was Janine, the secretary. She was so sassy! I love her.

Next week I'll be watching Back to the Future, but for the rest of October I might try to go for some classic, creepy films! Feel free to leave suggestions below!
