After going to the movie store to get Shawshank Redemption, and failing, I settled on another 80s movie for my movie choice last week. And yes, Tom Cruise is involved.

I watched Top Gun a few weeks back, and that was the first time I had ever seen Tom Cruise in his youth. Now I can add another young Tom Cruise flick to the completed list: Risky Business (1983).

When I tell you I had absolutely NO IDEA what this movie was about when I went into it, I literally had NO IDEA. Anyone who has seen this movie can kind of figure out how shocked I was when I finally found out. The only scene I had ever seen was, of course, the iconic scene of Tom Cruise dancing in his underwear. I thought, "oh, this is probably just another one of those classic 80s high school movies where the boy's parents go out of town and he has a party." NOPE. The only party Tom Cruise has is a party full of call-girls. He is a LITERAL pimp!

I was deinitely a little bored with the beginning of the movie. It took FOREVER to finally get to the point. For the entire first half hour I was so confused. I was like, what's the business and why is it risky? Little did I know...

Like most movies about call girls, this movie was really dirty! Surprisingly dirty! During the whole "first time" scene I was totally blown away! That was some graphic stuff! And don't even get me started on the train scene. I didn't think they made movies that dirty in the early 80s! Clearly I was wrong.

The final scene where Tom's character got into Princeton was hilarious and it made me laugh out loud. A really funny ending to a very odd movie. It was deinitely worth watching.

Next week I will be watching The Green Mile. If you have any other suggestions for me, leave them below!
