I'm really late on posting this one (4 days to be exact), but here it is: my New Year's Resolution Movie List movie review from last week! I actually had to watch this one over the course of two days because I didn't realize it was THREE HOURS LONG until I was halfway through. It's the Mel Gibson classic - Braveheart (1995).

First of all, I was expecting this movie to be much less sad for some reason. I thought it was more about fighting and less about tragic life events. Boy, was I wrong! I knew I was mistaken after the very first part of the movie when William's dad doesn't return from battle. I was already crying like, 10 minutes in.

I also have to say that this movie was absolutely BRUTAL. The war scenes were so gory that I couldn't even watch some of them. After I saw someone get stabbed in the eye I was like, "NOPE." The torture scene at the end of the movie was the WORST. It just dragged on for so long, which made it so much worse.

Overall, I thought it was a good movie. It was a little confusing at times, but it was definitely deserving of the Oscars that it won. I had no idea it was based off of a real person until just now, so that changes my perspective a little bit. I will say that it was too long. I just don't have the attention span to sit through a three hour movie.

If you have any movies you think I should add to my list, let me know! Leave your suggestions below.
