For the first time ever I hit an animal with my car yesterday, and I am completely traumatized!

My drive from Michigan back to Iowa is about 8 hours long and it is filled with nature. Sometimes this is a good thing, because you get a nice view while you're driving, and other times it's not so good. This is one of those times.

Yesterday I was driving back to Cedar Rapids on I-94 and I was going about 75 mph.Suddenly, out of NOWHERE, this bird comes flying in front of my car. Now, most of the time you see birds do this and you think to yourself, "there's no way I'm gonna hit it." Well... I hit it. Or maybe it hit me. However you want to look at it, this bird hit HARD. I didn't know what to do, so I just kept driving, SCREAMING at the top of my lungs. The bird then continued to bounce across my roof. Luckily, my window was mostly closed, otherwise this dead bird would've landed right in my lap! It left one lone feather at the top of my window that I looked at sadly for the next 10 minutes.

A few hours later a pretty orange butterfly got caught in my windshield wiper, where it also died. I have determined that my car is a death trap. If I'm on the road, you should be scared.
