If somebody is going to get hurt, it's probably going to be me!

The weather this weekend was perfect for some outdoor activities, so when a coworker asked me to join his human foosball team, I couldn't say no! Checkers Tavern in Cedar Rapids hosted a U of I Children's Hospital Burn Unit Fundraiser on Saturday, with the main event being a human foosball tournament. I had never played human foosball before, so I wasn't sure what to expect, but it ended up being so fun! I played soccer for around 12 years, so there was no chance I was going to hate it.

The thing is, the game was a little trickier than I expected. The "keep your hands on the bar at all times" rule was sometimes a little hard to comply with. That's actually the rule that led to getting me injured. I'm just a tad bit competitive, so I got a little too into the game on Saturday. Right towards the end, I tried to turn around to steal the ball from the person behind me, but I accidentally removed my hand from the bar. Quickly realizing my mistake, I threw my hand back on the bar, but because of the angle I was standing, my other arm ended up getting pinched between the stationary bar and the moving bar. I ignored it at first, since we still had two minutes left in the game, but as soon as it ended, I knew it was going to be a big, ugly problem. I iced it to help ease the pain, but I predicted that it was going to turn into a pretty nasty bruise. I was right. This is what it looked like later in the evening on Saturday:

If you think that's bad, take a look at it today. It seems to be getting bigger. Brain was horrified:
