I was always a fan of Blake Shelton, but seeing/meeting him this weekend made my feelings a whole lot stronger.

Blake. Freaking. Shelton. Where do I even begin? This weekend's Back Porch Revival Concert at Kinnick Stadium was just plain awesome. I might even say that it was the best concert I've seen all year. I didn't get a chance to see Tucker Beathard (which I'll explain shortly), but I did get to see all of Big & Rich and a portion of Thomas Rhett, and those guys were fantastic, too. And I felt so blessed to be in the presence of Ashton Kutcher.

So things didn't get off to a great start for me. I knew about the bag restrictions, because I had read up on the rules beforehand, so before I left home, I grabbed the smallest purse I own. It fits approximately 4 items inside. I guess that small bag wasn't small enough, because when I got up to the gates, I was turned away. It was about half an inch too wide. I totally understand that the woman who denied me entry was just doing her job (I've been in her shoes), but I was beyond frustrated. I've never been to Kinnick before, and I didn't realize how insanely strict the bag rule was. I was told I could check my bag, but if I did that, what would I do with the stuff I had to carry with me? I didn't have any pockets. Luckily, my friend had a wallet with her and could hold my I.D., key, and money for me, but I had to walk all the way back to my car and put everything inside, and then carry the rest of my junk in my hands for the duration of the concert. I made a joke about carrying a freezer-size Ziploc bag as a purse, but I soon realized that it wasn't really a joke because so many people actually do that. I guess I know better for next time, but I'm bummed that I missed out on Tucker's entire performance because of the situation. My bad.

Moving on, I did get to see all of Big & Rich's performance, and they really do bring the party! Their performance was so lively and fun, and I loved their song mash-ups. I also love that Spider-Man made an appearance. I missed about 90% of Thomas Rhett's performance due to the Blake Shelton meet & greet, but from what I heard, he was his usual amazing self. I even got a sneak peek at his wife Lauren as she was being escorted through the crowd! In case you're wondering, yes, she is just as gorgeous in person.

Now, onto Blake. Oh, Blake Shelton, you tall, beautiful man. He was so sweet and friendly and funny. I was actually shocked at how composed I was, considering 30 seconds before I walked in I started having a mild panic attack. I don't even think I said anything embarrassing, which, as we all know, is a huge feat for me! He even complimented my name and wrote "I love you" on my ticket, which is something I will cherish for all of eternity.

On stage he was charming and funny and entertaining, and I totally melted when he sang "Austin." Overall, his performance was just stinkin' amazing. 10/10.
