Cops Nab Car Thief In Marion

According to CBS 2, Marion police have arrested a man they say is suspected of stealing two cars in Marion over the past few weeks."

The suspects name is 33-year-old Derek Triplett. Marion police received a tip and went to his residence for a welfare check. During that check, they found one of the stolen vehicles parked outside of his residence.

Police say Triplett stole a 2012 Ford Escape from Casey's on December 30, 2017. We published a story about that theft that you can read here. The other incident involved a stolen Toyota Highlander on January 1. 2018.

Charges are pending on both thefts.
