A weekend Showdown pitted two very different types of love songs against each other. Cole Swindell's "what if" ballad "Middle of a Memory" faced "Wanna Be That Song," the brand new single from Brett Eldredge. Voting was extremely tight, with Swindell coming out on top to face a second Showdown challenger.

That's Brad Paisley and Demi Lovato. The surprise duo have teamed up for the first single from Paisley's next studio album. "Without a Fight" is a anthemic love song that explores the good and bad of married people arguments. This is the pop star's first country single, and she's proving she can pretty much sing with anyone. Her fans will give Swindell's a major challenge today and Tuesday.

Listen to clips of both Swindell vs Paisley’s songs and vote for your favorite here. You can vote once every hour until this Showdown ends on Wednesday at 8AM ET, so come back and vote often to be sure your artist wins. The winner of this matchup will face a new challenger on Wednesday.

Showdown Rules: The song with the most votes wins, and the winner goes on to face a new challenger in the next Showdown. Vote as much as once per hour online. If a song wins five Showdowns in a row, it will be retired into the Taste of Country Showdown Hall of Fame to allow for new songs to compete. Some songs will be considered for a second Showdown if voter turnout is healthy in a losing effort.
