The transition from one-way streets to two-way streets in downtown Cedar Rapids continues to be an ongoing project. After taking out several stop lights back in August, the city is now putting in stop signs at several intersections.

Four-way stops are being installed at 2nd Avenue and 2nd Street SE, and 2nd Avenue and 3rd Street SE.

Many citizens say since the traffic lights have come down, it's been much harder to cross the street and navigate the flow of traffic in those areas. The cities public works department has been monitoring the situation and says that adding the stop signs will improve traffic flow and help control speed in that area.
