Summer can't be to far away! Cedar Rapids Splash Pads Open this Saturday! (5/24) Here's more info from the City of Cedar Rapids:

Cedar Rapids, IA – May 20, 2014 – The Cedar Rapids Parks and Recreation Department will turn on the splash pads in the parks, with the exception of the one in Noelridge Park, on Saturday, May 24. The Noelridge Creek Side/Harding Splash Pad is currently inoperable due to cracks in the rubberized safety surface. The surface disintegrated over the winter making the play area unsafe. Parks and Recreation Department staff is currently assessing repair options and costs. An announcement will be made when the splash pad has been repaired to safety standards. Signs are currently posted at the site.

Splash pads are located at Cedar Valley Park, Cleveland Park, Daniels Park, Hayes Park, Hidder Park, Jacolyn Park, Redmond Park, Time Check Park and Twin Pines Park. The spray features are activated when a hand is run across the sensor. The water is turned on at 10:00 AM each day and turned off at 8:00 PM. For more information call 286-5750.
