While most school districts in Iowa build snow days into their yearly calendar, no one had this amount scheduled for 2019. With the unrelenting winter weather causing cancelations left and right, the Cedar Rapids School District announced on Thursday their tentative plans for makeup days.

The district released these plans last night. A final determination will be made on February 25th. However, school officials say that it would be best if families and staff looked at these dates and made plans accordingly.

According to the tentative plan, the following Fridays will now convert to FULL school days. March 1st, 8th, 15th, 29th, April 5th, 12th, 26th May 3rd, 10th.

The following days will be FULL school days made up at the end of the calendar year. June  3rd, 4th, and 5th.

Of course, there is the fact that we aren't quite through winter yet. If any more days are needed to be added because of further cancellations, they will take place on the following days. April 19th, June 6th, 7th.

The district realizes that there is no perfect plan that will work for every family. The dates listed will be finalized at the next district meeting on February 25th.
