Cedar Rapids’ Pelicans Have Me Worried
It's July 14th. There is still plenty of summer to go. It is not September. It's July 14th. There is still plenty of summer to go...
I have to keep telling myself that today after driving by Cedar Lake this morning and seeing a squadron of Pelicans.
Seeing Pelicans on the lake along Interstate 380 has become a common sight in recent years, but in mid-July? Perhaps they're just as confused by the weather as we are. Cedar Rapids' seven-day forecast has temperatures barely sniffing 80-degrees. Never fear though, it appears that next week we'll return to more of summertime normal with mid to upper-80's for high temperatures.
Like I Said... It's July 14th. There is still plenty of summer to go. It is not September...
Let's enjoy this weather while we can. I just hope the Pelicans don't decide to head back north next week. I'd like to see 'em stick around 'til say, November. I'm up for a late-fall, how 'bout you?
