Cedar Rapids Native Joey Gase Has Career Best Finish At Talladega

Cedar Rapids native Joey Gase had an outstanding Saturday. The NASCAR Xfinity Series (the former Nationwide Series) was at Talladega, a place know for speed..lots of speed. You need to avoid the big wrecks, you need to be patient, and you need to draft your way to the front. And when it was all over with, Joey Gase did all of that and finished with a career best 5th place finish. And this is a career best finish for his racing team, Jimmy Means Racing.

Joey noted that his team budget is so small, his sponsorship funding “for the entire year is what some of these teams have for one race." Most teams have a hired PR person, Joey is the team's PR person!

Another Joey, Joey Logano won the race followed by Brian Scott in 2nd, Austin Dillion in 3rd, with JJ Yeley in 4th and Joey Gase ending up 5th. Cedar Rapids native Landon Cassill was 11th. 40 cars stated the race with 24 cars still on the lead lap at the finish.
