An overflow emergency shelter will be opening in Linn County when temperatures drop below freezing. Volunteers and employees will work to fill the Willis-Dady Emergency Shelter, Mission of Hope and Catholic Worker House before starting to house those in need at the overflow.

It pays to create a backup shelter, considering last year it helped keep over 100 people warm. However, shelters can be low on supplies and with out those it's hard to take care of others. Check out some places in Cedar Rapids to donate this holiday season and keep these places stocked!

If you can't donate supplies, you can donate your time. Willis Dady is in need of volunteers to help with the overflow shelter. Check out the information below to find out how you can help.
