Before we know it, the sleet, snow, freezing rain, icy road conditions and frigid temperatures of winter in Eastern Iowa will soon be replaced by fresh open air, free entertainment and the sights, smells and tastes (there's nothing like a breakfast burrito on a summer morning) from nearly 200 local vendors and businesses, converging on downtown Cedar Rapids to distribute their homemade crafts, baked goods, homegrown produce and more.

Start thinking summer now and plan your visits to the Cedar Rapids Downtown Farmers' Markets. According to the Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance website, the schedule has been announced. Once again, the markets will be held every first and third Saturday from 7:30 a.m. -noon from June through September. See the schedule below.

June 3rd and 17th

July 1st and 15th

August 5th and 19th

September 2nd and 16th

If you'd like to set up shop as a vendor at the Farmers' Market, find out about the application process HERE.

The downtown Farmers Market is a Cedar Rapids fixture every summer, and I'm happy to see it still going strong. Spend your summer supporting your friends and neighbors and enjoying the best of our community. I'll see you there!
