The race for Governor in Iowa just got a little more interesting - especially in Cedar Rapids.  Iowa Senator Jack Hatch (D) who is running against incumbent Governor Terry Branstad (R) announced this morning that he had selected Cedar Rapids city council member Monica Vernon to be his running mate for the race in November.

Just this past week we were hearing from BOTH Republicans and Democrats that it was going to be tough to unseat Branstad as he makes a play for his sixth term as Iowa Governor.

Does this choice by Hatch make it more interesting and a tighter race for the top spot in Iowa?
