Besides Christmas and the Hawkeye's Rose Bowl appearance, the one thing almost everyone is talking about is the new Star Wars movie.  And Star Wars fever is running rampant.  In fact, it's even struck a Cedar Rapids church.

Thursday, the public is invited to a free and unique event complete with costumed characters, popcorn served by ushers, and clips of the original Star Wars movies, all in anticipation of opening night of Episode 7.  Pastor Craig Brown, an avid Star Wars fan known to dress up as a Stormtrooper on occasion, will be playing clips from across the first 6 movies. He'll have an intriguing look at the fall of Anakin Skywalker, and his redemption through his son, Luke, much like the story of Christ.  Nonetheless, the event might provide an interesting perspective on the whole story.

You won't have to travel to a far off galaxy for this either. It starts at 7 p.m. at First Lutheran Church at the corner of 3rd Ave SE and 10th St. SE.

Due to movie content, the event is rated PG.
