Cardinals Pitcher Admits To Grooving Pitches To Jeter In All Star Game

Last night’s MLB All-Star Game was basically a going away party for Yankee shortstop Derek Jeter. And, why not? Jeter is in his final season, he’s a first ballot Hall of Famer, and even if you HATE the Yankees, you’ve got to respect all that Jeter has stood for.  But the big story from last night involved St. Louis pitcher Adam Wainwright admitting that he may have “grooved” a couple of pitches for Jeter out of respect. http://youtu.be/6loK-v84uDo

Jeter had two hits in the game, including a double.  Wainwright later went back on TV and said that his comments were meant as a joke, and the he was trying to get Jeter out.  What do YOU think?  Are you offended IF Wainwright served Jeter up a meatball?  Or is this another example of social media blowing up a non-story?
