C Avenue In Cedar Rapids Closes For Construction Project

C Avenue NE in Cedar Rapids closed down on Monday for a major construction project. The closure stretches from 40th street north to Collins Road. The project will include street replacement, storm sewer and water main replacement, bike lanes, and sidewalks from 40th street to Nilsen Road.

The project is slated to be finished sometime this fall. The C Avenue work zone is one of 30 street projects planned in the city for this year. The public can learn more about all of the projects at an open house at the Cedar Rapids Public Library on March 29th, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., and again from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
