My youngest daughter Cayleigh is always the last to experience things. That's part of the fun of being the youngest. You have to sit and watch your older siblings grow up and wonder when you get to. Well, yesterday Cayleigh got to experience one of those growing up moments. Losing a tooth.

She was so excited to tell me over the weekend that she had a loose tooth. She could move it with her tongue and she thought that was cool. What she didn't think was cool was the fact there was another tooth coming in behind it, and if she didn't get it out soon, we'd have to pull it for her. That's when fear entered the equation. Yesterday Cayleigh began to avoid eating food in fear that the tooth would fall out. I knew we were getting close to the point of parental intervention. I was in the kitchen getting her a drink when I looked over at her and noticed she was bleeding from her mouth. It was then I noticed she was holding her tooth! She had bumped her mouth on the counter top and knocked her own tooth out! She was so happy she did it herself!
