Brain’s ‘Monopoly’ Memories Of The Classic Board Game

It's the game we all played growing up. Monopoly. The classic board game turns 80 years old on March 19th. My brother and I grew up as fans of Monopoly. We were introduced to the game by my dad, and he taught us how to play on the very same board the he played on when he was a kid. We never bought an updated version of the game. The fact we were playing on the very same board that our dad did as a kids was special, and confirms the longevity of the game itself. One thing my brother and I did have to do was print more money! Not because we lost any, but because some of our games would last so long, that we would literally run out! We also had a few rules unique to our own game too. 'Free Parking' was a glorified lottery. Monopoly games in our house could last for an hour, or for several days. And it was the same for homes across America. Here are some fun facts about the classic game that is turning 80.
