I don't take part in many polls, but when I saw Rolling Stone asking what people what their favorite country song of 2014 was, I couldn't resist.  Hey, I play them for a living!  So I voted, and when the results came out....my song choice wasn't even in the top 10!  I was outraged!  I called Rolling Stone and asked for a complete retraction of their article!  Ok, I didn't call them, and in their defense, the list is still very strong.  Here are the Rolling Stone poll results.

  1. Carrie Underwood "Something In The Water"
  2. Keith Urban "Somewhere In My Car"
  3. Chris Young "Lonely Eyes"
  4. Eric Church "Give Me Back My Hometown"
  5. Miranda Lambert "Automatic"
  6. Eric Church "Talladega"
  7. Luke Bryan "Play It Again"
  8. Sturgill Simpson "Living The Dream"
  9. Dierks Bentley "I Hold On"
  10. Luke Bryan "Roller Coaster"

Those are all great songs.  But I didn't vote for a single one of them as my favorite country song of 2014.  What was mine?  Leave The Night On by Sam Hunt.  I loved it the first time I heard it!  It went on to become a number one hit, and my favorite country song of the year!  What was YOUR favorite?
