Brain Stays Close to Home on Vacation [GALLERY]

A week off from work in the middle of summer. What more could this kid at heart ask for! I spent this past week off from work, but not far from home. Holly still worked and I had the kids for much of the time, but make no mistake...I got some relaxing done. We made several trips to the pool. The kids had a blast and it was fun to see them learn to love the water a little more. Plus with the heat of last week the water felt great! I met up with some high school friends on Wednesday night and did dinner and drinks. I attempted to eat the largest burger known to man. I failed. The leftovers were another meal altogether. My brother and his wife welcomed a son to their family. It was so cool to meet another baby Brainard! The week wrapped up with our annual family trip to Adventureland. We spent hours in the water park and rode the rides too. The bottom line was that I got a chance to relax last week, and that's what a vacation is all about.
