Is Little Big Town at a crossroads? Are they leaving country music? Why are they working with Pharrell? Calm down folks. Country's top group isn't going anywhere. They're just trying new things. The groups new album 'Wanderlust' is available digitally today. Yes, it's produced by Pharrell and features a special appearance by Justin Timberlake. But it doesn't mark the end of the group's days in country music.

First of all, the album is only eight songs long, and can only be downloaded or streamed. That should tell you that this is just a fun, summer project the group took to spread their wings. I admire them for that. They've been one of the most successful acts in country music the past several years. To make an album that sounds like this is a bit of a risk. However, the group has stated that they don't plan to release any of the songs as singles to country radio. So take this album for what it is. Breezy, fun summer pop. But how does the album sound?

It's Little Big Town, so the harmonies are great. But for me, the songs are a mixed bag. I really like One Dance and One of Those Days. Both are catchy pop songs that sound perfect this summer. The big Justin Timberlake contribution is on the song C'mon. It's underwhelming in my opinion. Not a great tune, and not enough JT.

Look, Little Big Town isn't leaving country music. They're working on a country release for later in the year. Take 'Wanderlust' for what it is. A fun, summer, pop project. What's wrong with that?
