Late last fall as the Iowa Hawkeye football team was preparing to head to The Rose Bowl, we talked about a famous song that celebrated another Iowa trip to Pasadena. The song was called 'Bringing Home The Roses' and we even played a clip on the air. Is it a good song? Well, no. But it has an important place in Hawkeye history and many people in the state still have their copy.

My vinyl collection has recently branched out into the world of 45's. I'm starting to pick up a few here and there, mostly older classic recordings. But as I was going through some records this week I stumbled upon a piece of Iowa history. The promotional 45 of 'Bringing Home The Roses' and the B-side 'Hut Hut'! Will I ever play the song and sing along? Probably not. But how could I turn down this piece of Hawkeye nostalgia!

I'm not sure how many of the 45's were produced, but I'm guessing a lot of Iowa fans out there probably still have their copy. For now, my copy resides in my office at work. Here's hoping The Fabulous Fryers reunite for a 2016-2017 return to the Rose Bowl! GO HAWKS!
