...and by "party it up" I mean we ate a lot and danced questionably.

I. Am. Exhausted.

It was another awesome Great Jones County Fair weekend, and it's safe to say that I'm STILL recovering. There were ups (the food and the music), and there were downs (the weather), but everything came together for an overall wonderful weekend.

Let's start with the food. I said last week that I would be eating my way through the fair, and I kept my promise. Saturday it was so unbearably hot that I couldn't bring myself to eat anything aside from my nachos (because let's face it, nothing will stop me from nachos), so I had to make up for it on Saturday. I had some pizza and cheese fries while standing in the pouring rain, and then had some mini donuts covered in strawberries and whipped cream for dessert. After the concert ended, I finished up the night with my first EVER Iowa tenderloin, and it made for a wonderful ride home.

Despite the insane amount of sweat pouring from my body, I have to say that Friday was still my favorite concert night. I saw Carrie Underwood back in March in Detroit, so I was looking forward to seeing her again on a more personal level. Giant stadium shows are really fun, but when artists play fairs, festivals, and other outdoor venues, it really strips back all the glitz and glam and focuses more on the music. Even without seven costume changes, Carrie was phenomenal, and I still stand my ground on the whole "she sings just as good live and she does recorded" thing.

As expected, Saturday night with Florida Georgia Line, Cole Swindell, and Chris Lane was a giant party. Even though we were all ankle deep in mud, that didn't stop anybody from letting loose and enjoying the performances. Honestly, I think we were all just thankful the GJCF crew was able to do what they keep the show from being cancelled in such a short amount of time. And to them I say, "THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU." My favorite artist of the night would have to be Cole Swindell. Even though his set was cut short, he still nailed every song he sang (plus he looked GREAT, right ladies?).

Even though the weekend didn't go exactly as planned, I think we all made some awesome memories. Well, I did, anyways. Some of the most fun concerts I've ever been to had some not-so-great conditions, but it's about being able to look past that enjoy yourself, regardless. To the entire crew at the Great Jones County Fair, I once again want to offer up a thank you for working your butts off and making the best out of an unfavorable and difficult situation. To the security guards, paramedics, and police officers on site all weekend, thank you for keeping an eye out and keeping everyone safe. And to anyone who rode The Slingshot, you're insane and we questioned your life choices the entire time you were being flung around in the air. You're much braver than all of us! Haha.

And NOW, the moment you've all been waiting for... here's a short video of Brain doing the whip and nae nae (right after I missed him doing the "Bye, Bye, Bye" dance):
