One of the most rewarding things I get to do each year at KHAK is deliver valentines to the veterans at the VA Hospital in Iowa City.  It's not always easy, to see what they may be going through, but it's always an emotional experience to see the gratitude of getting a homemade valentine from a child.

Yesterday, Courtlin and I had the privelage of visiting several rooms at the hospital and chatted with some veterans and their families.  Some were headed home that day.  Others were going to be there a while longer.  All of them expressed sincere thanks at the valentines we presented.  And those valentines were amazing!  Thank you to everyone, young and old, who took time to make them again this year!  One thing that struck us yesterday was when one of the vets who had served in Vietnam said, "it took so long for anyone to say thank you to us."  To that veteran, and to ALL who have served and continue to do so, THANK YOU.
